Who is responsible
Atlas is operated by Riverside Industries Ltd. Questions or data-rights requests can be sent through the contact page.
Information we handle
- Account identifiers, email address and authentication information supplied through Clerk.
- Your public Atlas profile, including display name, handle, avatar, biography, location and website.
- Hubs you join, discussions, replies, votes, saved discussions and reputation.
- Private messages, message requests and blocks. Unreported messages are not available in moderator interfaces.
- Reports, sanctions, appeals and moderation audit records.
- Operational information such as timestamps, request identifiers, approximate network address and error information needed for security and reliability.
- Privacy-conscious traffic and performance measurements supplied by Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights.
Why we use it
We use account and community data to provide Atlas and fulfil the service you request. We use limited security, moderation and operational data for our legitimate interests in preventing abuse, protecting members and maintaining a reliable service. We may retain or disclose information where necessary to meet a legal obligation or protect someone from a credible threat.
Service providers
Clerk provides authentication and account management, Neon provides the application database, and Vercel provides hosting, deployment and limited analytics. These providers process information under their own contractual and security obligations. Some processing may take place outside the United Kingdom using appropriate transfer safeguards.
Private messages and moderation
Atlas administrators cannot browse private conversations. When a participant reports a message, the reported message, reporter context and sender identity become visible to authorised administrators for safety review. Nearby unreported messages are not included.
Retention
- Active account and profile information is retained while your account exists.
- Deleted accounts are anonymised. Public discussions and replies may remain under a deleted identity so conversations still make sense.
- Private conversations involving a deleted account are removed from Atlas.
- Moderation, report, appeal and security records are normally retained for up to 24 months after resolution, unless a longer period is required for an active safety or legal matter.
- Infrastructure backups and provider logs expire according to the applicable provider retention schedule.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your public profile, export a copy of your Atlas data, or delete your account from profile settings. Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may also give you rights to access, correct, restrict, object to, erase or receive your information, and to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Children
Atlas is not intended for children under 13. Anyone under 18 should avoid sharing personal contact details or other sensitive information publicly.
Changes
Material changes will be announced inside Atlas and reflected by the updated date on this page.
