Contribute something useful
Add context, explain claims and make it possible for someone else to respond thoughtfully. Do not manufacture outrage, spam the same point, or post solely to attract attention.
Disagree with ideas, not people
Criticism can be direct without becoming degrading, threatening or discriminatory. Persistent unwanted contact, dog-piling and attempts to drive someone away are not acceptable.
Respect privacy and consent
Do not publish private contact details, confidential material, intimate content or identifying information without permission. Private messages must not be used to bypass a block or continue unwanted contact.
Be honest about identity and incentives
Do not impersonate people, coordinate deceptive engagement, manipulate votes or conceal a relevant commercial relationship. Correct consequential mistakes when you discover them.
Protect people from harm
Credible threats, sexual exploitation, encouragement of self-harm, malware and other illegal or acutely dangerous material should be reported immediately. If someone appears to be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service rather than waiting for an Atlas response.
Moderation should be proportionate
Moderators should explain removals and restrictions, preserve an audit trail, distinguish disagreement from misconduct and use the least severe action likely to work. Atlas administrators may intervene where local moderation is compromised or platform safety requires it.
Appeals
Warnings and active bans can be appealed from your Atlas account. Appeals should explain the relevant context or identify a factual error; they are not a venue for repeating abuse.
